LNRP Winter 2025 Updates from Executive Director Mike Mullen

Dear Friends and Supporters,

At a recent presentation, an audience member shared a phrase that really resonated with me: “We all have a water story”. During these first few months of 2025, I’ve been reflecting on the many water stories I had the privilege of experiencing in 2024. I'm thankful for the staff, board, volunteers, partners, and donors whose dedication made these stories possible, and for the lasting impact our supporters have had on the well-being of communities across Wisconsin’s lakeshore region.

The end of 2024 brought us new staff member Sam Frauenfeld, several additions to our board, and a completed three year strategic plan. As part of the planning process, we also developed updated mission and vision statements

Looking to the future, our team is busy preparing for our spring and summer programming. We’re collaborating with several LNRP Partner Groups in planning clean ups, paddles, educational programs, and opportunities for you to come out and show your support through our Conservation on Tap event series. The next Conservation on Tap will be in March at a Port Washington brewery with Ozaukee County Watershed Coalition – more details coming soon!

Later this month, we will release our 2023 - 2024 Impact Report, which shares and celebrates the great work we’ve accomplished together across seven Northeast Wisconsin counties.

Despite the evolving challenges we face, there is so much to look forward to! As we chart our course for community-based conservation, we hope you will continue helping us craft water stories along the way.

In gratitude,

Mike Mullen
LNRP Executive Director
